So Long, Marianne

The Norway-Canada-Greece co-production about the legendary love story between singer-poet, Leonard Cohen, and his muse, Marianne Ihlen…

So Long, Marianne tells the legendary love story of Canadian singer and poet Leonard Cohen, and Marianne Ihlen. It’s an intimate tale of two lonely people falling in love during a period of their life when they are trying to figure out who they are and their place in the world, while one is becoming one of the most famous singers of all time.

Set against the magnificent backdrop of a Greek island at the end of the 1960s, the series dramatizes the coming together of several struggling artists looking to change the world. At the heart of the community, two people who are lost and divorced from their time, marvelously portrayed by Alex Wolff and Thea Sofie Loch Næss, reach a tender and epic tipping point, a key moment in the history of music.
